Socks. Men’s socks and women’s socks

Is there a difference between men’s and women’s socks? There are no set rules anywhere about which socks a man can wear and which a woman cannot. Generally speaking, in our sock range, women’s socks come in sizes 36–40 and 40–42. Men’s socks, on the other hand, are usually sizes 40–45 and 46–48 for particularly large feet. However, this doesn’t mean that women shouldn’t wear size 40–45 socks, or vice versa. Rather, you should choose socks based on whether you like the pattern and colour scheme. So, socks have no gender! Wear whatever socks you need and want.

What should you bear in mind when choosing men’s socks?

Suit socks come in sizes 40–42 and 43–45, as they are made from a finer yarn (usually combed cotton). Consequently, the yarn used in suit socks is not as elastic or stretchy, but it is fine-textured and elegant. When it comes to men’s socks, you should also consider the width of your foot. If you have a wide foot, it’s always best to choose socks one size larger.

What should you bear in mind when choosing women’s socks?

If a pair of socks happens to feel too big, simply wash them once in the washing machine and leave them to dry. Once you put them on, the socks will mould to the shape of your feet and be perfectly comfortable to wear.

Do your feet get cold?

In our climate, it’s essential to keep your feet warm – that way, your mind stays clear too. Alpaca wool and merino wool socks provide warmth whilst being thin enough to fit inside your boots. In addition to these, we also stock a range of soft angora wool socks.
